The Computer Networks Research Unit (CNetRU) is part of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Frederick University, Cyprus. The CNetRU has been established in July 2012, to support primarily the research needs of the University's Computer Systems and Networks Academic Domain Unit, and has demonstrated significant work in research in the areas of both wired and mobile/wireless computer networks, as well as in smart devices software development and mobile social media.
The CNetRU comprizes of two Labs: the Networks Laboratory (NETLAB) and the Mobile Devices Laboratory (MDL).

- Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Communications
- Internet-of-Things (IoT) Architectures
- Ubiquitous Computing and Smart Environments
- Sensor and Vehicular Networks

- Intelligent Control, Multi-objective Optimization and Constraint Handling
- Mobile Social Networks and Smartphones
